/p/hotography book project
It’s time that the world seeing what the internet’s greatest /p/hotography board is made of… and to add something to your coffee table.
I am assembling a photo book made of entries entirely from /p/ lurkers, anons, tripfriends, etc. Anyone can participate and I’d urge you to post a photo that you care about, are proud of, or just like – there will be a range of content, skill and styles and that’s totally ok.

Who can participate?
Anyone can participate.
What information must I provide?
Asise from basic info about your image(s) I will ask for your name, country, and e-mail address. You can be included in the book as Anon if you like. I will only use your email address to request clarifications, a new photo if the upload fails, and notify you when the book is ordered. Your contact info will not be shared.
What will the book be like?
Not completely sure, but I’m looking at one of the Blurb 8″x10″ landscape books with economy cover and paper. I may go with lustre photo paper if the cost isn’t prohibitive. It will be published with as few as 20 pages and up to 80. The target cost will be $35.00. It may be a little more if a lot of entries come in.
Who makes money on this?
Blurb will. The book will be made available at cost from the printer. It will not be marked up a thin nickel.
What kind of release do I need to provide?
There’s a really loosey-goosey release that essentially asks permission for a one time use of your image for this purpose only. I’ll also ask that you attest that you are submitting your photo and you have rights to it, etc.
Are you going to censor the book?
The goal is that everyone who sends in an honest, real entry will be in the book. I’m not a curator. There is no jury.
This will be a PG-13 to R rated book. Tasteful nudity will be allowed, but I will request a signed model release for any racy photos (I’ll e-mail you). Any offensive language will have to be *bleeped* out – sorry about that.
What should the file format be?
I would prefer a higher-quality 8-bit JPEG in the sRGB color space. Size based on 300dpi. So the max image size at 8×10″ would be 2400px x 3000px. Some entries will likely be 2 on a page. So as long as you are at 1800px on the longest size, it’ll work.

Yes.
Is there a time limit to post?
Not yet – if a lot of stuff comes in, I’ll likely shut it down with a few days’ notice.
